Physics Humor: LHC Affects the Election

Bad Astronomy has a post with this cartoon from WTTF (Name actually NSFW.)  Click the picture to see the punch line on this funny but obvious cartoon.  Republicans shouldn’t be anti-science.  Things can get sticky.

What Geek Are You?

Geeks Are Sexy just put up this post with this image from Flickr user ExtraLife.  In it is an image showing 56 types of geek.  Which one(s) are you?

Ok, I have to fess up and say that I am: Indy Geek, Potter Geek, Apple Geek, Food Geek, Travel Geek, Outdoor Geek, Book Geek, History Geek, Transformers Geek.  (Bolded and underlined to highlight just how much of a geek in each area I am.)  So when can we get individual copies of each geek?  I’d love to use one or two as my personal avatars.  :0)

Dead Cartoons

Seriously twisted! Fits my mood at the moment.

Ars Moriendi – How to die in a proper way. (Link unfortunately dead now.)

These illustrations remind me of both the Shel Silvertein books we had in school as a kid and of the intro credits to PBS’s Mystery.

Also, check out the bunny suicides for more sick humor:

Star Wars (Conspiracy): The Truth Comes Out At Last

The Websurdity Blog has posted a treatise on the discrepancies that exist in the Cover Story that has been put out to explain the destruction of the Death Star.  As Imperial Citizens, it is our duty to stand up and fight for the truth to come out.  We must unite behind our beloved Emperor, and fulfill our duty as citizens to be informed of the truth.

Websurdity » Blog Archive » Uncomfortable Questions: Was the Death Star Attack an Inside Job?

Seriously though, this is a great satire of our modern day “real life” conspiracy theories.  Hope it makes you laugh.

Define Irony…

PZ Meyrs from the evolution blog Pharyngula had an interesting experience. He was standing in line to see a new creationist movie named “Expelled” when he was approached and asked to leave by law enforcement/security. He left, and the movie producers thought they had removed the anti-creationist/pro-evolution element from the crowd…

The only problem you ask??? Well, they let his family and a guest enter the theatre. Who was this mystery guest? Only Richard Dawkins! The most famous evolutionist and atheist in the world today. Kinda funny. They were trying to keep out their opponents, and they let the enemy general walk right in through the front door.

Here’s his original post: Pharyngula: EXPELLED!

Writers Strike is Getting Old

I agree with web comic xkcd. I don’t care about other shows, but I miss the Daily Show.

I am the Very Model of a Psychopharmacologist

Check out this great video on Youtube that came across on Boing Boing today. It comes to us from Steve Higgins at the Omni Brain blog.

This video is a great play on Gilbert and Sullivan’s song from “Pirates of Penzance“, I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General.
